A bit about Sealand

Founded in 2015, Sealand has become a well-known brand in South Africa specializing in the design and manufacture of high-quality, eco-friendly bags and accessories. Renowned for their commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship, Sealand Gear utilises up-cycled and repurposed materials to create unique, durable products.


Reporting and Inventory Management across Online & Retail

Previously, Sealand Gear was running both their retail and online operations through Shopify, Shopify POS and Stocky.

Shopify provided all the functionality they required for running the frontend of local and international websites, but presented challenges when it came to reporting, product assembly of raw materials and separating products between retail and online.

The ERPLY/Shopify integration provided Sealand Gear with advanced retail functionality through ERPLY POS and Back Office, with seamlessly integrated product data, order management and stock syncing with Shopify.

Through using our integration, Sealand Gear is able to benefit from all the features of Shopify for their online platforms, and enjoy a fully integrated retail based backend software for their brick and mortar stores and warehouses.

Stock Management of Assembly Products

With a robust production process that involves purchasing raw materials and trimmings, which are then assembled at their Hout Bay production site, they required a system that provided functionality to manage this. ERPLY’s inventory module will allow Sealand to manage the stock of their raw materials, and assembly these to finished products using recipes.

ERPLY Implementation

The ERPLY implementation spanned five weeks. During this period, staff received training on both the POS and Back Office systems. ThinnPro and the Sealand team worked together to develop workflows and business processes tailored to Sealand’s needs. Together, ThinnPro and Sealand completed a full recon of their product data, ensuring that this was compatible with the ERPLY/Shopify integration, after which the product data was migrated to ERPLY. Prior to go live, stock levels were successfully migrated to ERPLY from their Shopify account.


By the end of the implementation, all five retail locations, along with their Shopify and
Xero integrations, went live simultaneously.
